Lake of irrigation and drainage network training project in Moghan
Abstract : Shahid Ghaffari Town Lake in Moghan is an off stream artifical lake constructed in themiddle of the Moghan irrigation and drainage network and at the Km 35 of the main canal and upstream of 77240 hectars of the land with 115 meters of bed elevation. The purpose of this lake construction was to absorb sediment and regulate the discharge of water from the lake for a short period of 35 years. It initial volume has decreased from 11 milion cubic meters to 1.5 milion cubic meters at 137-meter elevation.By extraction of results from the WAPLAN simulation model for fifferent elevation after recharging the khodafarin Dam, consideriing the reduction of 50 percent of the sediments inlet to the network by recharging the Khodaferin dam, increasing the efficiency of sedimentation facilities of the Miel and Moghan dam is twice as much and discharging sediments to the elevation of 130 m.So, the following results will be obtained : increasing the lake life to 44 years, the efficiency of 30% of th lake sediment excluder,,adjusting the need for 5 to 15 days by increasing or decreasing 10 to 20% of the discharge correspponding to the peak season requirement.therefore, the training of the town lake with the aim of restoring its lost capacity and thus restoring its role in regulating network volatility and sedimentation basin in different options were examined and considering the implementation cost and time and social factors, the canal construction option was chosen as the preferred optin to pass the water flow during the mechanical discharge of sediments in the lake
