Kahir dam is a Faced Symmetrical Hardfill Dam (FSHD) located in Chabahar city, Sistan and Balouchestan province
The purpose of Kahir Storage Dam construction is to provide the agricultural water needed in the lands of Kahir plain in the dam downstream, as well as the provision of sanitary water for the villages and the environmental need, in addition to supply drinking water to the cities of Konarak and Chabahar
The height of the dam is 54.5 meters and the length of dam crest is 382.5The reservoir volume of this dam is about 314 million cubic meters in normal level. In addition to the main body, the Kahir dam consists of a saddle dam of homogeneous earth type with a geomembrane surface at the eastern-northeast of the dam reservoir. The length of saddle dam crest is about 1560 meters and its maximum height is 21 meters. At present, the physical progress of Kahir Storage Dam project is 84%
